The New Car Myth
Most new car damage is caused by the supplying dealer’s
preparation of the paint work by using poor preparation techniques that can
lead to swirls and scratches in the paint work. The vehicle could also have
transport wax still adhered to the surface. Also it may have been damaged in
transit (noticeable scratches or other defects) which the dealer will try to
cover up.
Unfortunately all these defects will be covered by a Pre Delivery Glaze that will hide this for several weeks. By this time you have noticed the problems you will have no comeback on the dealer for the swirls and light scratches.
Your dealer may try and sell you one of the special “super sealants” that they can apply for in excess of £300+ (Costs only about £20). The sealant and price is mainly just marketing hype and will not afford the vehicle the proper protection that a Mirror Finish New Car Preparation Service will achieve.
